St. Mary's Tower Bell Ringers

St Mary's has a fine ring of 8 Taylor bells that were cast in 1907. Our primary role is to ring the bells for any services that require the bells. In practice this means that we ring for the 10.00am service every week and for any additional services such as Christmas morning and any others that do not occur on a Sunday morning.

At present we only have three ringers so we are reliant on support from ringers based at neighbouring towers.  With their help, we are able to ring for most Sunday mornings and other important Church services, although we rarely manage to ring more than six of the eight bells.

We practise on a Friday evening between 7.30pm and 9.10pm. We welcome all visitors whether they can ring or not and if you cannot ring but would like to learn, then please come along and we will arrange some lessons.

For any other information about the bells or the ringing, please contact Philip Coward on 01454 281444, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
